(This is an open Roleplay, everybody can join- However, there is a minimum posting length of five lines, and when an order has been established (after 5 ppl or so) no posting until the person that is last in the order has taken their turn; also please note: it is best not to have NPC's who can be taken later put into this thread, such as Melody's mother, Khloe and Novaks brother, etc. Etc. Until they get taken.... It's just for continuity purposes.)
Melody sat still, listening to the ghost (for that's what she called the man in front- he was dressed in white, and seemed to hide the lower half of his body behind the big table-probably because he had no legs and didn't want anybody else to see that he was a ghost) and stifled the urge to see for herself if he had legs or not while she tried to listen to him talk about the book. It was such a boring book to look at too. The stories were good- but she didn't like that the words were so long, and there were no pictures. She liked the other book a bit better, with the songs in it, but when everybody sang together, that was just annoying, so she wasn't particularly fond of this place- with the ghost, non-entertaining stories, and off-key singing.
The only reason she was here at all was because her mother was in bed with a cold, and she'd been firmly told to go so that their presence wouldn't be missed. She didn't see how it would be so important if she was there or not-sure Melody's mother was the principal of one of the best schools in the country, but they weren't that important in town, were they? Surely not! Still, she bore it, because she had to, because she wouldn't disrespect her mother's faith- that would be going too far, and it wasn't right to kick a dog when she was down. Melody would just have to make up for not exploring by exploring in the middle of the night. She sat up straight, and listened to the sermon, trying not to think about how the man hiding behind the big desk was quite obviously a ghost.

It took all of Jack's self control not to shiver and grimace at the thought of church. It wasn't that he didn't like church, it was more that his faith didn't match up with what the church's faith was. Jack sighed and absently ran his palm over his facial hair, making a mental note to shave sometime in the next couple of months. After smoothing out his shirt and jeans, Jack entered the church as quietly as he could. Damn, he was late. He could already hear the priest giving the sermon of the day and sighed, rolling his eyes. When he was younger, and they went to church as a family, the church let him draw a picture about what he learned and he would get some candy. Now that was how church should be. Mindless bribery, as was the way of the rest of the world anyway so why shouldn't church adapt to that now? Shaking his head at himself, Jack glanced around the room, looking for a spot to drop into. His eyes set on an empty seat next to a young looking girl and, without another thought, the college sophomore dropped into the seat, the buttons on the butt of his jeans making a loud sound as they met with the hard wood of the benches. " Jeez, these things should be softer," he grumbled to himself. " Shit." He bit his lip when he realized he'd cursed aloud, albeit his voice was quiet he still said it. He glanced at the girl next to him and felt his stomach drop. It was Melody Asina, the princepal's kid. Great, he was screwed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Done TAGGED: Melody/Open WORDS: 283 LYRICS: All Time Low NOTES: outfit CREDITS: Thanks to BUNNYA! at Caution 2.0

(Another rule I forgot to mention: please space out your alts, it'd allow your fingers to get a rest. Posting order right now is Melody, Jack, Khloe: after that Melody will waitb24 hours before posting again.)
Khloe couldn't take it anymore. She'd been trying so hard to be quiet, and be a credit to her sister, but this guy was so boring- no wonder she always slept in church- and then ended up doing penance later. She took her phone out of her purse, and checked to see if she had any text messages. There were a few from her parents, giving her updates on her dog; she hadn't been allowed to bring him to boarding school, even after they'd tried to bribe the principal. It appeared that Buster wasn't doing too well, and that nearly made Khloe cry.
She nudged her sister next to her with her elbow and whispered, Novak, we have got to get out of here. Her voice was cracking, she never felt this much emotion for anything else before. She was scared. If Buster died... She could get another dog, but it wouldn't be the same, it would feel as if it was some imposter, and Khloe knew that if Buster died, and she did get a new dog, she'd only think of the new dog in comparison with Buster, and that just wouldn't be fair to the new puppy at all.
Khloe whispered harshly, We have to leave and closed her eyes when she felt glaring from the man at the front. Maybe it hadn't been the best decision to sit in the second row right in front of the minister-he knew how to make people feel guilty- probably the reason why he was so good at his job.

Melody looked at the man, shocked. You swore. she whispered loudly, in an accusatory tone. She couldn't believe that he had the gall to do that. If she'd swore she would have gotten her mouth washed out with soap. He'd come in late too. The ghost was looking at them now, and she gulped. Her mother was going to hear about this- and it was all that other guys fault. She quickly folded her hands and placed them in her lap, and pursed her lips, vowing not to speak for the rest of the service. Of course, that was easier said than done, in Melody's opinion.

It wouldn't have been so bad except that he felt her whisper had been a tad too loud. The brunette nervously glanced around, making sure no one had heard his cursing nor Melody Asina's loud whisper. " Keep your voice down, will you?" Jack hissed back, glaring down at the girl. Geez she had no sense of subtlty, did she? Wasn't she like twelve or something? Sheesh. Jack rolled his eyes and looked back at Melody for a second before looking around, his eyes widening when he realized the priest was looking at the two of them. Oh shit. He desperately wanted to just swear up and down but self-preservation kept his mouth shut and he looked away. Maybe if Jack ignored him, the priest would go back to his sermen and leave the two of them alone. Jack looked down at Melody, amusement playing about his face when he noticed how the girl was sitting. " Aw, aren't we all prim and proper!" he teased in a low whisper. The brunette dusted off the legs of his jeans before he mocked the young girl's pose. Part of his mind scolded him for being so immature but he told that bit of his mind to screw off and let him have his childish fun. Carefully, Jack cast another glance around, annoyed that the priest was shooting them looks now. Geez, what a nosy old man anyway. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Done TAGGED: Melody/Khloe/Novak/Open WORDS: 256 LYRICS: All Time Low NOTES: outfit CREDITS: Thanks to BUNNYA! at Caution 2.0

Khloe would have rolled her eyes at the way her sister had reacted if she hadn't had tears in her eyes. She knew it was useless to explain that her parents had brought her up somewhat religiously, and had made a deal with her that they'd keep her credit card accounts open as long as she went to church once a month.
Her lower lip stuck out when her sister snapped at her, and she turned back to the front of the church, tears threatening to spill. After staying motionless for a few minutes, listening to the man in front, and clutching her phone in her hand, she bent down to the floor, picked up her purse, unzipped it, and placed the phone back in, making sure that it was on vibrate and not a ring tone before she did so. After placing her purse back on the ground, she closed her eyes, and breathed deeply.
It was a relaxation technique which always worked, and it did so now. The thought of her dog dying was soon forgotten as she thought instead of the dance steps she'd practised last night, and after opening her eyes again, she looked ahead, determined not to pay attention to Novak for as long as she was still annoyed.

• • • • • • • • • • • [/b]," she hissed, pulling the younger girl behind her as she marched her way to the aisle of the church, her heels making a click sound with each step she took. She held her head high, not acknowledging the stares some of the older church goers were giving them. After a few seconds, Novak let go of Khloe's arm and continued walking until she was in the hall of the church, the double doors between her and the probably angry priest. The dark haired woman took a deep breath, hoping to God that Khloe had a good reason for being insufferable and sniffly and almost-crying. She flipped her head around and raised her brows expectantly, hoping Khloe would have a good explanation for her. Jaysene blushed as she walked in the door, horribly late. She ran down the aisle and into the nearest pew, catching the edge of it on her hip bone. Her eyes watered, and she bit back a rather interesting obscenity. Nothing worse then swearing in God's house.
She looked up to see who she was next to, seeing a huge college student beside her. Was that STUBBLE? Holy CROW, he was scary. Her face turned bright scarlet as she realised she had been staring, and gaping at him.
She quickly turned to the front, standing up eagerly with the rest of the churchgoers, wincing when she felt her blonde hair hitting the guy, peering at him with apologetic eyes, and whispering Sorry... under her breath. Hearing a halfway familiar psalm being sung, she hummed along, not remembering the words. She remembered promising to her parents she would attend church, even though she knew she was eternally damned for ruining her brothers lives. Not to mention her parents' reputation, and her last day with her best friend. Who cared anyway? If God was real, maybe he would have had the sense to HELP her?

Order: Melody Jessica Asina, Jack Thomas Santon, Khloe Touhou Andrews, Novak Klive Andrews, Jaysene Alexander Riviera. All others wishing to join post AFTER Jaysene, after Jaysene's post I'll wait 24 hours before posting again)Melody couldn't believe the way church was going on today. It was certainly unconventional, and probably making the priest angrier and angrier with everyone whispering, and leaving, and coming in late. It made for an interesting sermon- the priest kept losing his place and stammering, and the old people around not aware of the fact that the school students were there thought that it was either a) a joke and laughed quietly or b) a sign that he was finally about to hit the bucket and they gave pitying sad looks. She was ignoring the man next to her, he was irritating, to say the least- he was probably one of those guys who was spoiled, a show off, and cocky to everyone, like Reggie in the Archie comics. She didn't like that- it wasn't nice- especially at church. So, she was surprised when an older girl ran down the aisle, and actually chose to sit next to him. That was a bad idea, a very bad idea, but Melody couldn't warn her without the man or the priest giving her death glares, so she had to leave it. Next thing she knew, the girl's hair hit the guy right in the face, and as Melody bit her lip, she wondered how the priest and the man next to her were going to go about handling that. Melody thought church was getting to be very entertaining now- and not because of the sermon. [OOC: If you guys need to understand my reference, Archie comics is a comic book collection, and one of the characters is this guy ]

He was being ignored. Wow it had been a while since a girl had just blatantly ignored him. She was so young, too. She would go far in life. The fashion designer casually leaned back in his seat and draped both of his arms over the back of the pew they were on, not caring that his arms might be getting in someone's space. The brunette smirked at the priest as the man stuttered over what he was saying. Why couldn't he focus? You'd think he would be used to students being obnoxious but apparently not. Jack chuckled quietly, ignoring the stares he could feel boring into the back of his head. Absently, the young man glanced down at Melody, contemplating taunting her again. However, there wasn't anything that immediately sprung to mind to say that wouldn't get him slapped. Boredom was starting to set in and once again, the bribery thought was starting to set in. He didn't care if he was twenty, he deserved to be able to color and get a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup or some Hershey's out of it. Right? Geez. And the priests and workers wondered why people his age hated church. Funny, that. When you get older, you start to yearn for the childish things in life. Jack stretched his arms above his head and yawned, his shirt riding up his belly a bit. He dropped his arms back down on the pew and sighed. It was at this moment that a girl sat down next to him. Jack looked down at her and grinned brightly, only to get a face full of hair. Jack spluttered, batting his hands childishly to get the girl's hair out of his face. When she apologized, Jack raised his brows down at her. " Whoa girl," he whispered. " That did not taste good at all." He grimaced to himself. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Done TAGGED: Melody/Khloe/Novak/Jaysene/Open WORDS: 331 LYRICS: All Time Low NOTES: outfit CREDITS: Thanks to BUNNYA! at Caution 2.0

Khloe sniffled as she followed her sister into the hall, barely keeping herself from sobbing wildly. That was how much she cared about her dog. She knew that from the look of her sister's face anyway- that Novak probably didn't understand. Great, she thought to herself, as she caught her sister's glance. Yet another reason for her to hate me.
She looked down at the floor guiltily and bit her lip, struggling again not to cry. She hadn't meant to cause a scene in the church- and to most people it probably just looked like a spoiled brat trying to get out of going to church- but it wasn't- well, not really.
She looked up again at her sister, and said softly, hating herself for crying as tears began to well up in her eyes. It's B-B-B-B-Buster- my dog. She explained, thinking of the golden retriever she'd left at home just that summer, and how he'd always liked to go swimming with her and go for walks with her. He's n-n-n-not doing too well, it-it-it has to d-do with-with-with his legs. She felt embarrassed to be showing this much emotion over a dog- her parents felt it was a bit ridiculous too, not that she'd ever heard them say anything- but she could tell they thought it was foolish.
She closed her eyes, and whispered, probably one of the most human things she ever had- I'm scared. It took a lot for this girl to admit her feelings, and she quickly took her phone to try to cover up this awkward confess-all mood that she was in.
