Melody opened the door ever so quietly, just a little bit at a time, and poked her head in. She smiled at the room. Good, the recording studio was empty. Maybe I won't get into trouble for doing what I want. she thought with a smile as she walked over to the recording booth, placed the headphones around her ears, and turned on the recording equipment. She took her Ipod, and plugging it into the speaker, she smiled as the intro to the karaoke track came on and then began to sing.
She walks to school with the lunch she packs. Nobody knows what she's holding back. She wears the same dress she wore yesterday, she hides the bruises with the linen and lace oho
She sang with passion and a clearness that was what someone would expect of a new voice. Without training, but still on good pitch, and with confidence. She was going to be a star, if she could only STOP being told by her mother to listen to age-appropriate music such as Disney songs or nursery rhymes.
She closed her eyes, immersing herself in the music; she never would have known if someone had walked in at the moment, she was busy expressing herself in a way she wasn't allowed to in front of her mother.

Jen walked into music studio , the woman's heels clicked as she done so a pile of papers lay in her arms, she set them down.she stood and watched the young girl a smile on her face as she went and turned the music off , her brown eyes flicked across the girl as she grabbed a chair and sat on it, she spoke softly her words warm , her english accent very obvious too anyone who heard her spoke " you are progressing everyday melody "
Jen smiled she knew it was true , the young girl had talent and it would continue too grow as she developed , she knew that her mother didn't really like her daughters way of expression.

Melody opened her eyes, stunned at the woman's voice. Uh-oh. Busted. she thought, her eyes wide with fear. She quickly turned off the recording equipment, not bothering to save it, and took off the headphones, laying them on the counter.
Her new music teacher hadn't sounded mean, or upset, but that was usually how teachers acted- especially new ones; when they didn't quite know the rules. Melody decided to play it safe, just on the off-chance that this little excursion got back to her mother.
I'm sorry Ms.Greene, she said, standing up straight. I was just...practising my scales. I didn't mean any harm. She motioned to the equipment, she had left everything the way she had found it, and she didn't think that she'd broken anything. She wondered what the older kids were singing, surely they weren't singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" or "Baa Baa Black Sheep," It didn't seem fair to Melody, but she wasn't going to bring it up now; not without judging what the new teacher's mood was like first.
